Ms Sudakshina Chaudhuri Kundu
Founder & Artistic Director, Tarang Art & Wellbeing Association of Scotland
Sudakshina is a dedicated Kathak dancer, teacher, and inclusive arts practitioner, and the founder of the Tarang Art & Wellbeing Association of Scotland. Trained in the Jaipur Gharana style of Kathak at Allahabad University, India, she holds a Pravin degree and brings with her deep knowledge of classical Indian dance. In addition to Kathak, Sudakshina has also trained in Bharatnatyam and Odissi at an intermediate level, further enriching her artistic vocabulary and cultural understanding. Her versatile background allows her to draw from various classical styles to connect with diverse audiences and students.
Since 2005 in Scotland, Sudakshina has been teaching and performing Kathak across Glasgow and beyond, sharing the richness of Indian classical dance with diverse communities. She welcomes students of all ages and abilities, and believes that dance is a powerful medium for expression, wellbeing, and connection.
Her pioneering work in inclusive arts led her to develop "Touch Base Kathak", a customized approach to classical dance that is adaptable for people with a wide range of physical and learning abilities—including those who use wheelchairs. This innovative form has helped many individuals experience the joy and rhythm of Kathak in a way that suits their unique needs.
Sudakshina has collaborated with many organisations across Scotland, including Sense Scotland, Capability Scotland, Corseford School, and others, delivering engaging workshops that combine movement, music, and mindfulness.
In addition to her inclusive work, she continues to offer regular pure Kathak classes, preserving the classical art form while creating an inclusive and nurturing learning space for everyone.

Her involvement with TAWAS is driven by a desire to give back to society, and to support awareness campaigns and community wellbeing programs through the arts.
Through her work with organisations such as Down’s Syndrome Scotland and Capability Scotland, Geetika has witnessed first hand how music and dance can uplift minds, heal emotional wounds, and bring joy to people of all abilities.

Ms Ajmeri Alam
Promoting health, wellbeing, and creativity through art, education, and community support is something I truly believe in. With an MSc in Education Studies from the University of Strathclyde and two years of experience working as a carer, I’ve seen the importance of inclusive spaces that nurture both learning and wellbeing. I joined TAWAS because I deeply connect with its mission to empower individuals through creative expression and community connection, and I’m proud to support its inspiring work across Scotland.
