1. Policy Statement
Tarang Art & Wellbeing Association of Scotland is committed to promoting equality, embracing diversity, and creating an inclusive environment where everyone is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.
We believe that participation in arts, music, culture, and well-being activities should be open to everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. We are committed to ensuring that no individual is disadvantaged or excluded from our activities, volunteering opportunities, employment, or services.
2. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to:
Promote equality of opportunity for everyone.
Prevent discrimination, harassment, bullying, and victimization.
Foster a culture of inclusion, respect, and belonging.
Ensure our services are accessible to people of all abilities and backgrounds.
Meet our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010.

This policy applies to:
Trustees
Employees
Volunteers
Freelance artists and facilitators
Participants
Members
Partner organizations working with the Tarang Art & Wellbeing Association of Scotland.

5. Inclusive Practice
We will:

6. Recruitment and Volunteering
We are committed to fair recruitment and selection processes.
Appointments of staff, volunteers, and trustees will be based on merit, skills, experience, and suitability for the role. Everyone will receive equal consideration regardless of their protected characteristics.
7. Responsibilities
All trustees, staff, and volunteers are responsible for the following:
Treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Challenging discrimination or inappropriate behavior.
Promoting equality and inclusion in all activities.
Following this policy at all times.
The Board of Trustees has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy is implemented and reviewed regularly.
8. Reporting Concerns
Anyone who experiences or witnesses discrimination, harassment, or bullying is encouraged to report the matter to a trustee or the chair of the organization.
All concerns will be taken seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated fairly and confidentially where appropriate.
9. Monitoring
We will regularly review our activities and seek feedback from participants, volunteers, and partners to ensure our services remain inclusive, accessible, and responsive to community needs.
10. Review
This policy will be reviewed every three years, or sooner if there are changes in legislation or organizational needs.
