Bringing People Together Through Dance, Music & Community
Glasgow Garba began just after COVID, when we realised how important it was for people to come out of their homes, reconnect with others and rebuild a sense of community. We created Garba as a joyful and welcoming opportunity for people to come together, dance, enjoy music and celebrate with one another.
Community dancing is a wonderful way to support physical, emotional and social wellbeing. People can be active, meet new friends, share laughter and enjoy the energy of dancing together.
What started as an opportunity to reconnect has grown into a vibrant community celebration, bringing people from different backgrounds together through music, movement, culture and friendship.
Our special feature is Dhun Dhamaka, a group of talented local professional musicians who perform live Garba music while the community dances together. Alongside the live music, we have a DJ, a variety of community and food stalls, and refreshments provided by TAWAS.
The main purpose of Glasgow Garba is simple: to bring people together, promote healthy wellbeing and create a welcoming space where everyone can enjoy being part of the community.
